ECC Newsletter Edition 01/2022

2022 is set to be another big year for climate diplomacy and security. Our events calendar is already filling up with highlights like the Munich Security Conference, the Fragility Forum and regional sustainability fora. On 8 February, adelphi and three embassies to the UK are hosting the Weathering Risk Climate Security in 3D dialogue. Mary Robinson, Laurence Tubiana and Anna Lührmann will explore opportunities for addressing climate security risks to promote climate justice.

Meanwhile, EU climate diplomacy is picking up fast, as climate topics dominate various EU policy areas. With energy supply and infrastructure cooperation issues at the centre of a complex geopolitical landscape, it becomes ever more obvious that decarbonisation trends and the European Green Deal shape EU's foreign policy and trade.

If you're still trying to digest the events of 2021, listen to our restrospective podcast (with holiday feels!), in which we cover the year's highlights in climate diplomacy and security. Also, make sure the check out the summary of our workshop with policy makers on how to operationalise the external dimension of the European Green Deal, held in November.

Last but not least - we'd like to hear from you! We want to make sure we are bringing our readers the information that matters to them. Complete our brief survey and let us know what you need to know in 2022.
